July 29, 2022 Tarrant County Judge Whitley issues a Disaster Declaration for Wildfires
TARRANT COUNTY
RENEWAL OF DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER FOR TARRANT COUNTY
WHEREAS County Judge 8. Glen Whitley, pursuant to 418. l08(a) of the Texas Government Code, issued a Declaration of Local Disaster for Tarrant County on July 29, 2022, due to an imminent threat of severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from the threat of wildfires due to drought, extreme temperatures, and high winds; and
WHEREAS the County of Tarrant on the 2nd day of August 2022 remains under an imminent threat of severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from the threat of wildfires due to drought, extreme temperatures, and high winds; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DECLARED BY THE COUNTY JUDGE OF TARRANT COUNTY:
1. That a declaration of local disaster ("Declaration") is hereby proclaimed for Tarrant County pursuant to Chapter 418.108(a) of the Texas Government Code
2. That the Declaration of Local Disaster for Tarrant County proclaimed by County Judge B. Glen Whitley on July 29, 2022 ("Declaration") is hereby renewed for period of ninety (90) days unless continued, renewed. or cancelled by the Commissioners Comt of Tarrant County;
3. This Declaration shall be given prompt and general publicity and shall be filed promptly with the County Clerk of Tarrant County pursuant to Chapter 418.108(c) of the Texas Government Code.
4. Pursuant to Chapter 418.108(d) of the Texas Government Code, this Declaration activates the appropriate recovery and rehabilitation aspects of all applicable local interjurisdictional emergency management plans, including the Tarrant County Emergency Management Plan, and authorizes the furnishing of aid and assistance.
This Declaration shall take effect immediately from and after its issuance, ORDERED THIS THE 29th DAY OF JULY, 2022.

Tarrant County Burn Ban in Effect
      Tarrant County has a burn ban in effect until September 28, 2022.   It may be lifted sooner if conditions improve.
Update:   Effective today, June 28, 2022 the Tarrant County burn ban has been extended for an additional 90 days.
